2:20 p.m.: Not nearly enough fans made it back to their seats in time for the second half to start. Missouri's band wasn't even all the way settled in before Oregon State's Matt Moore hit tight end Joe Newton with a touchdown pass to give the Beavers a 21-17 lead.

Oregon State had great field position to start the half because Missouri tried an onsides kick. However, a Missouri player touched the ball before it crossed the required 10 yards, which gave the ball to Oregon State.

An impartial football fan, Nate Knox from Philadelphia, who said he was in El Paso to visit family and friends and catch the game, disagreed with Missouri's decision-making.

"They shouldn't have gone for it," Knox said. "They've got the lead, why not make them drive it down the field? It makes no sense."
