Offices closed Monday, Tuesday

Most city, county and federal offices will be closed Monday in observance of New Year’s Day.

City buses will not operate, and the city landfill will be closed. Parking meter regulations will not be enforced. Administrative offices for the police and fire departments will be closed; emergency services will be available.

Residential trash and recycling collection will be delayed one day throughout the week.

The Columbia Public Library will be closed Monday but will resume regular hours Tuesday.

The post office will be closed Monday and will only deliver express mail. The lobby of the post office will remain open for those who want to check post office boxes, drop off mail or buy stamps.

All banks, federal offices and the U.S. Post Office will be closed Tuesday in remembrance of former president Gerald R. Ford, who died last Tuesday.
