Local restaurant and bar owners disgruntled about Columbia’s smoking ban plan an initiative petition drive that they hope will result in a repeal of the ordinance.
A news conference to discuss the drive is scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Cody’s Saloon, 2508 Paris Road. If successful, the petition would force the Columbia City Council to either repeal the ban or place it on a ballot for a public vote.
