A tip called in to the Mid-Missouri Internet Crimes Task Force has led to the arrest of a suspected child pornographer and convicted sex offender.
Shawn Richard Seburn, 28, was arrested in a North Kansas City residence Tuesday night, according to a news release from the task force. Seburn had two outstanding warrants in Boone County, one charging him with the offense of first-degree promoting child pornography and one from the Columbia Office of Probation and Parole for absconding, according to the release.
Seburn’s house sitter told the Boone County Sheriff’s Department she discovered child pornography on his computer in January. The computer was then taken by deputies and handed over to the Mid-Missouri Internet Crimes Task Force for further investigation, the release said.
“An examination of the computer revealed several hundred images and videos of children as young as infants being sexually molested,” Detective Andy Anderson, coordinator of the task force, told the Missourian.
Boone County Sheriff’s Department issued a warrant for Seburn’s arrest on Jan. 26.
Seburn was being held in the Clay County Jail pending his return to Boone County, the release said. Bond was set at $25,000.
