All charges were dropped against former MU football player Thomas Omboga in Boone County Court on Thursday.

Omboga, 24, was arrested by Columbia Police on suspicion of third-degree assault at about 1 a.m. on Aug. 27.

That night, he was escorted out of Club Vogue, a men’s club, after arguing with security, police said.

Omboga came back a few minutes later and threatened them with a baseball bat, according to the probable cause statement.

Omboga was a community services aid for the Columbia Police Department. He was faced with penalties ranging from a memorandum on his file to permanent termination but decided to resign about two weeks after his arrest.
