A pedestrian was hit by an automobile at 7 a.m. Friday while crossing West Broadway at Stadium Boulevard.

Carlos Dos Santos, 29, was injured, but his injuries were not life threatening, said Sgt. Dianne Bernhard of the Columbia Police Department. Dos Santos was “moving around at the accident scene,” she said.

Dos Santos was crossing West Broadway when he was hit by an automobile driven by Daniel Nierenhausen, 72, of Knob Noster. Nierenhausen was traveling west on Broadway through a green signal when Dos Santos stepped into his path, police said.

Neirenhausen was wearing his seat belt and was not injured in the accident.

Dos Santos received a summons for failure to yield for a red light.
