Twenty-four summonses were issued to smokers and managers for failure to comply with the smoking ban during surprise inspections of Columbia bars on Thursday, according to a statement released by the Columbia/Boone County Health Department’s Environmental Health Division.

The Columbia Police Department’s Community Action team worked with environmental health specialists to inspect eight bars. Summonses were issued at six of them. The inspections were in response to complaints about smoking violations. Bars where summonses were issued include T.P’s Bar and Grill (at both locations), the Blue Fugue, Tiger Club, Black & Gold and Hoot-N-Anny’s.
