Two Columbia men were sentenced Monday morning after pleading guilty to participating in a conspiracy to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine, according to a news release from the Western District of Missouri’s U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Timothy E. Conrad, 37, pleaded guilty in July 2006 to his role in a conspiracy to manufacture and distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine and 50 grams or more of pure methamphetamine, the release said. Blake E. Idel, 22, pleaded guilty to the same charges in December 2005.
Don Ledford, public affairs officer from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, said Conrad and Idel manufactured and distributed methamphetamine from Nov. 16, 2003 to Aug. 29, 2006, in Boone and Callaway counties.
Conrad was sentenced to 13 years and four months without the possibility of parole in federal prison, the release said. Idel was sentenced to ten years in federal prison.
Karen K. Wall, 42, and Gregory L. Ford, 38, both of Columbia, were co-defendants in the case.
According to the release, Wall was sentenced in August 2006 to three years and three months in federal prison without the possibility of parole. Ledford said she was responsible for purchasing the ingredients to manufacture the methamphetamine but was not involved in distributing the drug.
Ford, who pleaded guilty to his role in the conspiracy in July 2006, is still awaiting sentencing.
