Here’s a look at the results of the races and issues that appeared on Boone County ballots outside Columbia. All terms for school board seats are for three years and all terms for town boards are two years, unless otherwise noted.
Board of Aldermen: David Thomas, John Sutherland and Barbara Bishop won in Wards 1, 2 and 3, respectively.
Southern Boone County R-1 Board of Education: Biff Barner and Barrett Glascock won.
Board of Aldermen: Jerry Parmeley won the mayoral race. Ryan Yager won in Ward 1; Bill Ladwig and Jason Ridgel won in Ward 2; and Timothy Grenke won in Ward 3.
Kathy Colvin won the race for city collector.
Centralia R-6 Board of Education: Harvey Million Jr. and Patt Olsen won.
Central R-6 School District: Voters approved a $9 million bond issue to improve schools in the district and to build a new upper elementary school. They also approved a 15-cent increase in the district’s property tax levy from 2007 through 2009.
Fayette
Fayette R-3 Board of Education: Michelle Howell and Steven Miller won.
Fayette R-3 School District: Voters approved a change of boundary between the Fayette R-3 and Harrisburg R-8 school districts.
Board of Aldermen: Larry Moore and Jim Bunton won in Wards 1 and 2, respectively.
Municipal judge: Richard Hicks won.
Hallsville R-4 Board of Education: Steve Koirtyohann and David Haun won.
Board of Trustees: Jeff Wardrip, Bev Larkin
Brown and Junior Carter won.
Harrisburg R-8 Board of Education: Brent Voorheis and Dan Larkin won.
Harrisburg R-8 School District: Voters rejected a 60-cent increase in the district’s property tax levy. They also approved a boundary change between the Harrisburg and the Fayette R-3 school districts.
Town Board: Nancy Grant, Jeanette Crawford and three write-in candidates won.
Board of Trustees: Debby Lancaster and Kurt Shryack won.
Board of Trustees: John Schroeder, Gerald Leaton and Tonnie Martin won.
Board of Trustees: Justin John and Robert Miller won.
Board of Aldermen: Brett Dufur won another term as mayor. Jeffrey Raaz and Deb Lynch won in Wards 1 and 2, respectively.
Board of Aldermen: Paul Heywood and Danny Joiner each received 143 votes for mayor, Kelly Martin was elected alderman in Ward 1 West, and Raymond Cranmer was elected to a two-year term in Ward 2 East. Dean Connolly won a one-year term in Ward 2 East.
New Franklin R-1 Board of Education: Denise Waller and Jason Jennings won.
New Franklin R-1 School District: Voters authorized the district to borrow $2.2 million to install a heating and cooling system for the high school, to build and equip a new gym for the high school and to complete other renovations.
Public Water Supply District No. 4: Larry Daly won.
