PrintI was photographing in a shelter for homeless women and children in a neighborhood in north St. Louis for a Missourian story. I spent the night at the shelter, but it took people a while to get used to me. With time, the residents loosened up, including Robert McGee, a 12-year-old, who played basketball in the backyard.
