Miranda Susann Iseult DeCourley may only be a month old, but she’s already developed a liking for nightlife.

“She’s my little party girl,” her mother, Rebecca, said with a laugh, referring to the fact that her new daughter likes to stay up between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m.

Miranda, who was born at 7:19 p.m. March 15 and weighed 9 pounds 4 ounces, came exactly when her parents, Rebecca DeCourley and Paul Berg, expected her.

Rebecca, who gave birth to Miranda in the family’s home, said she was thankful that she had enough energy after labor to enjoy her baby.

“I wanted a natural birth — no drugs, no surgeries, especially C-sections — unless it was absolutely necessary to save my baby’s life,” Rebecca said.

The birth of Miranda’s older brother, 2-year-old John Berg, took about eight hours. Rebecca said she was relieved that Miranda’s birth was much shorter — just under an hour.

Throughout her labor, Rebecca said her toddler tried to coach her, giving his support by yelling out, “You’re doing good, Mom!”

Currently, Miranda is sleeping with her parents, but she will soon move into her older brother’s bedroom.

Rebecca said Miranda is everything she could’ve asked for.

“We planned on having a girl and we got one,” Rebecca said. “I was thrilled.”
