It’s been three months since the Imagine Columbia’s Future citizen topic groups first met, and pieces are starting to fall into place.
Visioning participants met Wednesday to revise their goals and strategies according to community feedback they received at the Exploring the Vision Workshop on April 4 and to anticipate overlapping concerns among visioning groups. Some overlap will need to be reconciled, but other points of overlap will be viewed as “intersections” where community concerns come together to support many different plans.
After Wednesday’s meeting, topic groups will seek out information from local and national sources to flesh out their action plan: a detailed, specific description of what Columbia should look like in the future. The action plans will be compiled and presented at a community-wide workshop, which will likely be held in late summer.
The next citizen topic group meeting will be May 16 at John B. Lange Middle School.
