A 3-year-old girl reported missing Saturday was found, but police continued to search for the suspect in her kidnapping.

Sgt. Ken Hammond said Columbia police were notified at 8:30 p.m. that Ny-Toria Kelton had been dropped off at a residence in Boone County. She was reunited with her mother.

Police had issued an Amber Alert for her disappearance Saturday afternoon.

Late Saturday night, police were looking for suspect Troy Daye, 35. Police said he is a 6-foot black male, 180 pounds, with a scar above his right eyebrow. He is known to wear a mustache and beard. He was last seen wearing a red shirt, jeans and blue and white Nike shoes, with his hair in a ponytail.

Before her disappearance, Ny-Toria was last seen at her home, in the 1800 block of West Worley Street, at 8 a.m. Friday in the company of Daye.

Hammond said Ny-Toria’s mother had left the girl in Daye’s care while she was at work. She made several attempts to locate Daye and her child Friday afternoon, but was unsuccessful, Hammond said.

Police found the silver 1997 Plymouth Breeze the suspect had been driving. It was abandoned. A warrant was issued for Daye on suspicion of child kidnapping, Hammond said.
