MU tennis honored in academics

Four of Missouri women’s tennis players made the 2007 Academic All-Big 12 First Team revealed Tuesday: seniors Amanda Pratzel, Erika Josbena and Yelena Olshanskaya and junior Charlotte Bellis. MU ranked third behind Iowa State and Oklahoma, both with five members on the team.

To earn Academic All-Big 12 honors, stdent athletes have to maintain at least a 3.00 GPA either cumulative or the two previous semesters. They must also have participated in at least 60 percent of the team’s matches.

MU SOFTBALL: The Missori softball team has postponed its doubleheader against Big 12 opponent Iowa State scheduled for today because of a forecast that calls for heavy rain.

A makeup date has yet to be determined.

MU GOLF: The Missouri men’s golf team finished seventh at the Big 12 Conference Championships at Prarie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan., on Tuesday. The Tigers’ final round of 207 gave the Tigers a three-round total of 911, two shots behind sixth place Nebraska. Senior Shawn Jasper finished with a tie for 14th place, the best finish for a Tiger.

ROCK BRIDGE TENNIS: The Rock Bridge boys’ tennis team defeated Marshall 9-0 on Tuesday at Marshall to improve its season record to 11-3.
