PrintCrest forecasts for the Missouri River have fallen each day this week since weekend rains threatened to cause flooding that would rival 1993 and 1995, and this morning was no exception.
The National Weather Service late this morning put the 6 a.m. river stage in Boonville at 29.6 feet. The river was forecast to be at 29.6 feet Saturday morning and 29.4 feet Sunday morning.
At Jefferson City, today's stage was 28.8 feet with a forecast rise to 29.7 feet on Saturday and 29.2 feet Sunday.
Most levees along the river are built to 30 feet or higher.
At Cooper's Landing, a campground and marina near Easley, floodwaters were 3 inches deep inside the riverfront store late this morning. Owner Mike Cooper said that river levels were holding steady.
