An 18-year-old Columbia woman was sentenced to five years’ probation and ordered to pay restitution for three downtown Columbia robberies she committed with an accomplice last year.

Tiffany E. Shaw pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree robbery April 9.

Shaw and another woman, Jessica Calton, were arrested in August in connection with three strong-arm purse-snatchings.

Boone County Prosecutor Richard Hicks told Judge Jody Asel that, according to one victim, Shaw physically assaulted her while Calton, 19, grabbed her purse.

Stan Clay, Shaw’s attorney, said that his client was “salvageable” because she admitted guilt and because the robberies were Calton’s idea. He also said that she had been convicted of one misdemeanor. Court records related to that offense were not available.
