Columbia police arrested a woman Monday in connection with a May robbery in central Columbia.
Veronica E. Thrower, 41, of 606 Wilkes Blvd., was arrested on suspicion of armed criminal action and first-degree robbery. Police said she opened the door of a car that was stopped at a stop sign at Garth and Forest avenues, displayed a knife and demanded cash from the teenage driver.
Columbia police Sgt. Ken Hammond said Thrower was arrested May 12 in connection with an unrelated robbery on May 1 also involving a car. Boone County court records show she was charged with second-degree assault in connection with that incident. She was being held on $4,500 bail Monday afternoon in connection with the earlier incident.
Court records show Thrower has previously pleaded guilty to several misdemeanor and felony offenses including felony drug possession, stealing and assault.
