Doug Koenig of Alburtis, Pa., won the 2007 National Rifle Association’s Bianchi Cup National Action Pistol Championship. The win marks Koenig’s 10th victory in the event. Koenig beat last year’s winner, Bruce Piatt on Wednesday through Saturday at the Green Valley Rifle and Pistol Club’s Chapman Academy Range in Hallsville.

“It feels awesome, it really does,” Koenig said.

Including prize money for individual event titles, Koenig won more than $8,000.

Columbia resident Ronald Lacey placed 108th in the event while Grant (87th) and and Helen Jeavons (111th) of Harrisburg also competed.

MU WRESTLING: Tigers senior Tyler McCormick earned his second consecutive ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District VII Men’s At-Large honor with a 3.95 grade-point average in business management. The two-time All-American finished the 2007 season in sixth place at the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships.
