PrintA Columbia man pleaded guilty Tuesday to reduced charges in a 2005 shooting.
Lawrence C. Lawhorn, 19, was facing four counts of first-degree assault and four counts of armed criminal action. He was accused of using a 9 mm handgun to shoot at four people in a car. For each count of armed criminal action, he could have been sentenced to three years to life in prison, his lawyer, Christopher Slusher, said.
Instead, Lawhorn agreed to plead guilty to unlawful use of a weapon and one count of armed criminal action and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
