Sunday, June 10, 2007 | 1:06 p.m. CDT

An Iowa man was seriously injured Saturday when his truck overturned several times on Interstate 70 in Columbia.

Art Kestermont, 43, of Milford, Iowa, was heading west on I-70 in his 2000 Chevrolet pickup truck at 3:25 p.m. when he tried to pass a tractor-trailer on the shoulder about 1.5 miles east of the St. Charles Road exit.

Kestermont lost control of the truck and drove onto the grass and overturned several times. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time and was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to University Hospital by ambulance. The hospital said on Sunday Kestermont was in fair condition.
