Two women robbed at gunpoint

Two women were robbed at gunpoint by a pair of men in northeast Columbia late Saturday night, the Columbia Police Department said.

The victims called police during the robbery around 11 p.m. and said the men forced their way into their home, brandished a gun and demanded money from them, according to a news statement from police.

The women reported to the police that the suspects fired a gun as they were leaving the scene, but neither victim was injured. Police officers arrived and found that the suspects had stolen property from the women. A search conducted by Columbia Police, Boone County Sheriff’s deputies and officers from the Missouri Highway Patrol failed to locate the suspects, the news release said. The robbery took place on the 1500 block of Timber Creek Dr.

The suspects were described as two black men, both approximately 25 years old. One of the suspects was described as six feet tall, 160 pounds with a thin build, having collar-length braided hair and wearing a dark T-shirt, jeans and a dark bandanna covering his face. The other suspect was described as being 6 feet 2 inches tall, 170 pounds, with close-cut hair and wearing a white T-shirt and jeans.

The police are asking anyone with information about the crime to call Crime Stoppers at (573) 875-8477. Callers may remain anonymous and are eligible for a $1500 reward if the information leads to an arrest.
