Columbia police arrested a teen Tuesday after they said he fired shots near Spencer Avenue and Worley Street on Monday.

Damian H. Dancy, 17, was arrested on suspicion of unlawful use of a weapon.

Witnesses identified Dancy as the man who fired a gun at the intersection of Spencer and Worley at about 3 p.m. Monday, Columbia police Capt. Steve Monticelli said.

Police took him into custody during a traffic stop at about 3 p.m. Tuesday at Pershing Road and Ash Street, according to a news release. Police found a .380-caliber semi-automatic pistol in the car.

Monticelli said the gun was of the same caliber as the one used Monday at Spencer Avenue and Worley Street.

Dancy pleaded guilty to first-degree trespassing in April in Boone County Circuit Court, according to Case.net. He was charged with resisting arrest in May in Boone County Circuit Court.

Dancy was released Tuesday afternoon from Boone County Jail after posting a $4,500 bond.
