Hannibal Police arrested James Lee Peterson, 27, on suspicion of sexual misconduct involving a child less than 14 years old and attempted enticement of a child, said Det. Andy Anderson of the Mid-Missouri Internet Crimes Task Force.

Anderson said the suspect, who believed he was talking to a 13 year-old Boone County girl, attempted to entice an undercover male police officer to meet him and engage in oral sex and sexual intercourse.

Anderson said the suspect also sent undercover investigators revealing webcam videos of himself.

Peterson had been previously arrested by Jefferson City police on suspicion of sexual misconduct involving a child after a similar undercover internet investigation, said Capt. Mike Smith of the Jefferson City Police Department.
