A 66-year-old man was injured after he was thrown from his motorcycle Saturday night, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Cpl. Steven Rudloff of the Highway Patrol said John Stone was returning to his Columbia home on his Harley-Davidson after attending a family gathering at 6:15 p.m. when he rounded a sharp curve and veered off the right side of Route D in Cole County. Stone fell off his motorcycle, which was pulling a motorcycle trailer at the time, Rudloff said. People living in homes nearby notified the Highway Patrol of the accident.

Stone was treated for what Rudloff described as minor to moderate injuries at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
