The buzz has already begun about the MU football team’s 2007 season. Never mind that there are still 73 more days until the Tigers officially kick off the season on Sept. 1 in St. Louis.

The Street & Smith’s College Football 2007 Yearbook preseason magazine has ranked the Tigers No. 18 coming into the 2007 season. Last season, the team not only finished with an 8-5 record, but also competed in the Brut Sun Bowl and finished the season ranked eighth in the nation in total offense. The Tigers will have 14 starters returning from last season.

The magazine also named senior tight end Martin Rucker as a preseason Division I-A first team All-American. He is joined by junior tight end Chase Coffman and senior offensive lineman Tyler Luellen on the All-Big 12 Conference first team.

The magazine will hit newsstands June 26.
