A Columbia teenager died Friday at University Hospital from injuries he sustained in a two-vehicle collision Monday evening.

Corey A. Clemens, 18, was traveling north on Route B on Monday. Approximately half a mile north of U.S. 63, Clemens lost control of his Oldsmobile Cutlass and slid sideways, crossing over into the southbound lanes of Route B, according to the Columbia Police. His vehicle then collided with a Dodge 3500 pickup traveling south. At the time of the crash there were moderate rain showers in the area.

Clemens was extricated from his car by emergency personnel and transported to University Hospital with serious injuries, police said. The driver of the pickup sustained moderate injuries and was also transported to University Hospital. He was identified by police as Floyd H. Jacobs, 48, of Brunswick.
