Columbia police are looking for two men they believe may have information about a shooting Thursday outside of Club Tropicana in downtown Columbia.

The two men injured in the early morning shooting at 808 Cherry St. were treated and released the same day from a local hospital. MU basketball player DeMarre Carroll, 20, was shot in the ankle and an unidentified 23-year-old was shot in the side.

Sgt. Ken Hammond said the “individuals of interests” were not considered suspects.

The first person was described as a black male in his early to mid-20s, who was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a red St. Louis Cardinals cap. The second person was described as a black male, also in his early to mid-20s, heavier set then the first person, and wearing a multi-colored striped shirt.

Police have not disclosed the name of the 23-year-old victim because the suspect was still at large, police said. Carroll was identified as a victim by Mike Anderson, MU’s head basketball coach and Carroll’s uncle.

Police ask anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at 875-8477.
