Columbia, Mo. – University of Missouri Head Basketball Coach Mike Anderson dismissed senior forward Kalen Grimes from his program on Tuesday after he was charged with second degree felony assault stemming from an incident early Saturday (July 7) morning in Florissant, Mo.

“Based upon the information I have gathered, I have decided to dismiss Kalen from our program,” Head Coach Mike Anderson said. “This is an unfortunate situation and one that I know he regrets, but it is in the best interest of Kalen and our program to move forward with this decision.

“Although we have dismissed Kalen from our program, we will continue to help him through this difficult time,” Anderson continued. “Kalen will need support and he’ll have it through his family at home and through his family here at Mizzou.”
