COLUMBIA— A Columbia woman pleaded guilty on Monday to armed criminal action and first-degree robbery in a May robbery at Garth and Forest Avenue.

She was sentenced to five years in prison.

Veronica E. Thrower, 41, had already been sentenced last Wednesday to 60 days in the Boone County Jail for a similar, but unrelated, robbery that occurred May 1.

As previously reported in the Missourian, police said Thrower opened the door of a car that was stopped at a stop sign, showed a knife and demanded cash from a teenage driver. She was arrested May 21 in connection with the robbery.
