Schnuck Markets Inc. issued a voluntary recall for Schnucks Smokehouse Turkey Wings today.

Upon a routine quality inspection, it was discovered that the wings, which had a sell-by date of Aug. 24, may not have been fully cooked before packaging.

Customers in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Tennessee and Mississippi can return the wings to Schnucks for exchange or a full refund. The recall is specific to Smokehouse Turkey Wings only.

Approximately 600 lbs. of turkey wings were recalled, said Schnucks spokesman Paul Simon. Simon called it a “fairly small recall.”

This is not the first recall affecting Schnucks this week. On Wednesday, Lakeside Foods pulled Schnuck’s Blue Lake French Style Green Beans in 14.5-ounce cans from the shelves for a similar problem. The beans were found to be undercooked, which could result in Botulism. Although the recalls were a result of the same problem, the green beans were recalled nationwide and under a variety of brand names.

The turkey wing recall was specific to Schnucks stores.

There have been no reports of illness related to either recall at this time, but Schnucks warned customers that eating undercooked meat can cause food related illness.
