The National Weather Service of St. Louis has issued an excessive heat warning. The warning is in effect from 1 p.m. today until 7 p.m. Friday. The Columbia/Boone County Health Department has prepared eight cooling stations that are available for use during the time periods in which a heat advisory has been issued. The stations are open during the regular business hours of the establishments they occupy. Air conditioning and water will be available to everyone.
