COLUMBIA — Tuesday night, Columbia residents will celebrate the 24th annual National Night Out.
The event is intended to prevent crime and drug abuse, strengthen community spirit, and improve the relationship neighborhoods have with police. Most of the events will start at 6 p.m. and end at 10 p.m.
Events will be held at the following locations:
• Burrwood Drive and Rollingwood Drive
• Douglass Park, 400 N. Providence Road
• Thornbrook Parkway Pool, near Scott Boulevard and Route KK.
• Braemore Road and West Broadway
• Cherry Hill Village, near Chapel Hill Road and Scott Boulevard
• Winchester Drive, near Proctor Park, 411 Proctor Drive
• McKee Street Park, 1900 McKee St.
• Mallard Court and Teal Drive
• Hamlet Park, south of Smith Street and west of Windermere Drive
• Onofrio Court, on Rollins Road near Scott Boulevard
• Country Lane, by the Columbia Country Club, 2210 N. Country Club Drive
• Augusta Drive, near Forum and Nifong boulevards
• Leslie Lane, between Providence Road and Garth Avenue
• Whitetail Drive, off Range Line Street near Blue Ridge Road
• South Leisurely Way, off Oakland Gravel Road near Paris Road
• Bluffdale Drive, off Old Highway 63 South near Broadway
• Lovejoy Lane, off Blue Ridge Road near Oakland Gravel Road
