MU running back Tony Temple bruised his right knee at Tuesday's practice.
He is listed as day-to-day and will miss Wednesday's practice, according to Chad Moller, director of media relations for the MU athletic department. An MRI was performed Tuesday afternoon to determine the extent of the injury.
Temple was carted off the field after injuring his knee. He went up in the air for a short, tipped pass from quarterback Chase Daniel during 11-on-11 drills. Defensive back Paul Simpson and linebacker Sean Weatherspoon both hit Temple, who went to the ground clutching his right knee. He was helped to his feet but did not put any weight on his right leg. Then he was put in a cart and taken off the field.
After practice, Daniel said he believed the injury was not serious. His instincts were correct.
“It’s Tony. He’ll be fine,” he said. “He’ll be back out here tomorrow, maybe in a red (injury) pullover.”
