Columbia - The Tigers started volleyball practice this week after being ranked third overall in the Big 12 Conference preseason coaches poll. The Tigers are coming off their seventh-consecutive NCAA tournament appearance.

The team is ranked behind the defending national champions Nebraska and Texas, which was at No. 2 in the poll.

“I think it’s great for the program,” coach Wayne Kreklow said in a release. “I think for this time of year it speaks well to our veterans and the newcomers adding to the program. But, it’s still on paper, and I always take these things with a grain of salt, because we haven’t played yet.”
