Bridge work to begin on Chapel Hill Road

Monday, August 20, 2007 | 1:14 p.m. CDT

Residents near Chapel Hill Road and Scott Boulevard can expect construction noise starting about 8 p.m. Wednesday and continuing throughout the night as workers pour the deck for a bridge on Chapel Hill Road.

The work, which will be done at night because cooler temperatures are desirable during the pour, should be done by Thursday morning.

The bridge is part of a $2.9 million extension of Chapel Hill Road from Scott Boulevard to Gillespie Bridge Road. Jill Stedem, spokeswoman for the city Public Works Department, said plans call for the project to be done by October, but weather could cause delays.

Those with questions can call the Public Works Department at 874-7250.
