COLUMBIA — The Missouri women’s soccer team beat Indiana 5-0 Tuesday night in a preseason game at Walton Stadium. The Tigers came out pressuring but came up short on several good, early chances before freshman Alysha Bonnick converted a well-placed cross from freshman Krista Kruse for the first goal of the game in the 12th minute. The Tigers had several more good chances before junior Janelle Cordia’s shot bounced off another player and went in the net in the 34th minute to put the Missouri ahead 2-0, a lead they took into halftime.

The second half was more of the same as the Tigers kept the pressure on Indiana, keeping the play mostly in its end. Freshman Katya Hessel’s goal in the 49th minute put the Tigers up 3-0. Missouri got goals from junior Mo Redmond and sophomore Kristin Andrighetto to round out the scoring. Missouri finishes its preseason schedule Friday in St. Louis against Saint Louis before beginning the regular season Aug. 31 on the road against Illinois.
