COLUMBIA — Columbia police are looking for a man they said robbed a Columbia taxi driver Monday morning in central Columbia.

The man, who was described as about 5-feet 7-inches tall with a thin build, flagged down a taxi at about 10 a.m. at Garth and Forest avenues, Sgt. Shelley Jones said. The perpetrator reached into the cab and took an undisclosed amount of money before running away, and the taxi driver was not hurt, Jones said.

The man was last seen wearing a blue jersey shirt with a white T-shirt underneath, blue shorts and a blue ball cap, Jones said.
