Hickman girls golf team wins close match against Rock Bridge

COLUMBIA — The Hickman girls golf team defeated Rock Bridge 194-195 Tuesday afternoon. Rock Bridge freshman Megan Mueller finished first with a score of 41. Ashlee Daly led Hickman in the victory with a 44.

Mueller attributed her impressive round to good drives and a good touch around the greens, which she found to be challenging. Mueller attests that golf “has pretty much been her life” since she began at the age of four.

The match was moved to Old Hawthorne from L.A. Nickell. Old Hawthorne is the new home of MU men’s golf team and was a challenge for all the golfers. Rock Bride coach Melissa Melahn was happy with the course change and believes it was a good test for the team.

“We were just excited for the opportunity to come out here to play,” said Melahn. “We won’t play on a course like this again until maybe we get to state.”
