Columbia artist Larry Young puts the final touches on "Marathoners," two bronze sculptures, which were installed in Flat Branch Park on Tuesday, August 28, 2007. Young has been working off-and-on for the past year to complete the sculptures. This is the first project for which he has been commissioned by First National Bank for the City of Columbia, Mo.

Larry Young’s "Marathoners" sculptures are now on display in phase two of Flat Branch Park. The 6-foot-tall bronze sculptures are some of the newest additions to the area and stand high above the MKT Trail between Locust and Elm streets. The timely installation of the ‘Marathoners’ allows for their debut at the opening of the park before the Roots ‘n’ Blues Festival, Sept. 7-8.
