Columbia police recovered a stolen car at about 8:15 p.m. Wednesday night at a gas station on Providence Road.

Five individuals were taken into custody for questioning. Sgt. Will Green said the investigation is still pending and no arrests have been made.

Officer John Dye identified the green Toyota Corolla as stolen while driving in the downtown area and called for assistance. He followed the vehicle until it pulled in to the Phillips 66 at 126 S. Providence Road.

A slew of police cars responded to the call, but the majority left shortly after arrival.
