COLUMBIA — The city’s third annual Stream Extravaganza is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 6 at Flat Branch Park in conjunction with the first Twilight Festival of the month.
The purpose of the event is to teach people about watersheds, storm water, streams and local wildlife. The extravaganza will provide information on environment-friendly lawn care, rain gardens and rain barrels, according to a city news release. There will also be 20 activities designed to entertain and inform family members. The event is sponsored by Columbia Public Works and Boone County Public Works.
