COLUMBIA — Mid-Missouri bike riders will participate in the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Bike Ride 150 on Sept. 8 and 9 in Columbia.

Riders pedal 150 miles over two days to raise awareness and money to fight MS.

Renee Harms of Florissant is one of many with MS who will participate in the event. Harms is the captain of TEAM RAMS, which is the top fundraising team, set to gather more than $50,000 from the 2007 event. The St. Louis Rams sponsor the team.

Harms said seeing people with MS cheering on participants is moving.

“It’s so incredibly motivating and touching,” Harms said. “It’s really good for the soul.”
