COLUMBIA — Actress and singer Connie Stevens is making her directorial debut in Boonville. “Saving Grace” is inspired by the summer Stevens spent in the town in 1951.
Production Designer Bob Hummell is still looking for some props and set decorations. The items sought include: a refrigerator, a street mailbox, a phone booth, a park bench, a stove, a street shoeshine stand, a dictaphone, four upright typewriters, a water cooler and some five- to six-foot potted plants. All must be from 1951 or earlier (except, presumably, the potted plants).
Due to the low budget of the film, the production staff hopes to borrow these things from area residents, but a rental plan may be negotiated for especially rare pieces. If you have any of these items, e-mail cssavinggrace@aol.com. Filming is scheduled to begin Thursday in Boonville and the surrounding area.
