COLUMBIA — A 28-year-old Columbia woman died after she lost control of her van early Saturday morning in west Columbia, police said.

Natasha N. Atterberry was driving a Ford van south in the 2700 block of Blackfoot Road about 4:30 a.m. when she lost control and hit a tree, Columbia police Sgt. Lloyd Simons said. Atterberry, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene of the crash.

Simons said police do not know what caused the crash and were still investigating Saturday afternoon.
