Members of the Mid-Missouri Model Sailing Club, which normally races every first and third Sunday of the month, decided to bring their passion for model boats to Boone Landing residents Sunday afternoon.
Ruth Starman was one area resident who gave racing a shot for the first time.
“I used to sail at one of the Finger Lakes in New York state, but this is my first time with model boats,” Starman said.
Starman and others claimed that, after trying it once, they were hooked.
“We are already planning on doing it again next year,” said sailing club member Tom Trabue. “We had a lot of residents come out to watch. I think they enjoyed it.

Thank you for your article about M3SC and Boone Landing Sunday, Kathleen. I would like to publish a brief report about the event in the national newsletter of the CR 914 Class (I am the executive secretary of the national CR 914 class organization), and hope that you will give me permission to quote from your article. Also, I would very much appreciate copies of the jpeg files of the photos you took Sunday, one or more of which I would like to use in the class newsletter.
