Six sites under consideration for third high school location

COLUMBIA — Six sites are considered viable by Engineering Surveys and Services of Columbia for a third comprehensive high school in the Columbia Public Schools. The sites, including two already in the public eye, are:

— 80 acres north of St. Charles Road just east of Lake of the Woods Golf Course and just west of Route Z, owned by the St. Charles Road Development Co., valued at $2 million and asking $900,000.

— 80 acres east of St. Charles Road, south of Richland Road and a half-mile east of Richland at St. Charles Road, owned by East Richland Road Properties and Richland Road Properties, valued at $3.2 million and asking $3.2 million.

— 56 acres west of Rolling Hills Road north of New Haven Road, owned by John Payne, asking price $3 million (no information on value of land).

— 63 acres west of Olivet Church Road just north of Olivet at Route WW, owned by Robert Kinkead, valued at $1.26 million and asking $1.26 million.

­— 80 acres east of Route Z and north of Interstate 70, owned by George Godas, valued at $1.6 million and asking nothing.

— 80 acres at the southeast corner of Rangeline and New Haven roads, known as the Vemer property, owned by the school district and currently approved as the site of the high school.
