James Langley, right, describes to Lt. Kevin Rogers of the MU Police Department how he found an unconscious male outside of Devine Pavilion on Providence Road south of Stadium Boulevard while Detective Brandon Ruediger collects evidence Tuesday morning. Langley found the male victim in a nearby ditch. Police and paramedics responded to the scene and transported the individual to University Hospital at approximately 7:55 a.m.

A medical condition, not foul play, caused a man to become unconscious this morning near the parking lot of the Devine Pavilion on the MU campus.

James Langley, an athletics department employee, found the man in a ditch near Providence Road at 7:55 a.m., MU police said.

He was taken from the area by ambulance to University Hospital, and he is being treated.

MU police said more details will be released later today.

The initial report that the person was dead on arrival was not accurate.

The Missourian will continue to follow this story and post updates as more information becomes available.
