COLUMBIA — The public will have its last chance on Thursday to weigh in on a visioning process that’s been in the works for nearly a year and a half.
The city of Columbia will hold a Community Choices Open House from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lela Raney Wood Hall at Stephens College. A shuttle bus will run from the Twilight Festival downtown to the hall, which is on Broadway just east of College Avenue.
The open house will give residents the opportunity to review 118 goals compiled by 13 Citizen Topic Groups during the visioning process. Each participant will get to choose the six goals they believe are most important to them. The goals that receive the most votes will be given priority as a new committee works to implement the strategies.
Only those who attend the open house will be allowed to rank the priorities. There are no provisions for voting online or by mail. You can, however, view the strategies online at www.gocolumbiamo.com.
