Final: Missouri 52, Western Michigan 24
The Broncos tacked on two quick touchdowns early in the fourth quarter to get within two touchdowns of the Tigers. The first was a two-yard run by running back Mark Bonds. After a quick Missouri three-and-out Hiller hit Branden Ledbetter in stride for a 27-yard touchdown pass to make the score 38-24. Daniel responded with a 35-yard touchdown on a 3rd and 1 play. Daniel took the draw and ran up the middle untouched for the touchdown to stretch the score to 45-24. Chase Patton ran in a touchdown from 18 yards out to close out the scoring at 52-24.
Third Quarter: Missouri 38, Western Michigan 10
Daniel was intercepted by Bronco defensive back C.J. Wilson and Wilson returned it 46 yards for a touchdown to make the score 31-10. Tony Temple scored on a two-yard run off the left side to extend the lead to 38-10. The score was Temple’s second of the game and gave the Tigers a little more breathing room after the Broncos scored. Western Michigan marched back down the field and was at the Missouri 15 yard line to start the fourth quarter.
Halftime: Missouri 31, Western Michigan 3
Jeremy Maclin took a direct snap from Spieker for a 17-yard touchdown run to make the score 21-0. The score was Maclin’s second of the day and fourth in three games. Western Michigan place kicker Mike Jones made good on a 25-yard field goal to make the score 21-3. Bronco free safety Anthony Gephardt intercepted Daniel but the Broncos were stopped on a fourth down attempt. The Tigers moved down the field in less than a minute as Daniel found Saunders in the endzone for a 25-yard touchdown catch to make the score 28-3. Stryker Sulak forced a fumble of Tim Hiller that was recovered by Ziggy Hood. Jeff Wolfert hit a 47-yard field goal attempt to close out the half. It was his longest field goal of the season.
First quarter: Missouri 14, Western Michigan 0
The Tigers got on the board almost three minutes into the first quarter with a 24-yard touchdown pass from Chase Daniel to Jeremy Maclin to make the score 7-0. Maclin accounted for 54 of the 72 total yards on the drive, which included a 30-yard run. An interception of Bronco quarterback Tim Hiller by linebacker Brock Christopher and a 39-yard scramble by Chase Daniel set up a one-yard touchdown run by running back Tony Temple to make the score 14-0. The Broncos moved the ball inside the 20 as the first quarter ended.
