The efforts of sophomores Amanda Hantouli and Megan Wilson weren’t enough for the Tigers to prevent the Jayhawks from rallying for a victory on Wednesday night.

COLUMBIA — Missouri volleyball coach Wayne Kreklow has lamented his team’s inability to finish off opponents throughout the Tigers’ season. Wednesday served as another lesson, as the Tigers came apart at the end and lost to Kansas, 23-30, 30-26, 30-20, 28-30, 7-15. The loss snapped a six-match winning streak against the Jayhawks.

“I’m disappointed in our execution,” Kreklow said. “(Letting up) is a problem we have, and I’m not sure why that problem is there.”

The match started and finished ugly for the Tigers, who were caught out of position multiple times by KU’s attack. In contrast, the Jayhawks made relatively few errors.

“It’s those mental mistakes that keep catching up with us over and over again,” redshirt sophomore Megan Wilson said. “We’ve played enough games this season to know the mentality of the game. There’s no excuse.”
